This is a study of a large, stunning allamanda bloom in the morning sun. It measures 21.333 in (54.19 cm) x 28.444 in (72.25 cm). The large tropical flower is awash with shades of violet, lilac, lavender and closer to the center, red, orange and yellow. It is dramatically set against lush green foliage from the bottom and brilliant sky blue above. To me this piece personifies the renewal of the morning sun- another day, another chance. This is a variation of the piece "Allamanda II" with a more abstract approach. My intent for pieces like this is to have a more Asian or Indonesian flavor.
